what does the employment,
business & agriculture group do
Whilst there are limited business activities in the parish, an enthusiastic group
of small business leaders meet regularly to consider common interest via the
Cradley Small Business Breakfast Group (SBB), which meets monthly, at Blue
Ginger. The group also enjoys membership from a variety of small businesses
outside the immediate local area.
The SBB group promotes the interest of business in the Parish. It wants to build
on the high level of interest in local employment opportunities here and to
reflect the concerns of many who responded to the questionnaire.
A lively, and as yet unexplored, topic is the potential for tourism.

what does the employment,
business & agriculture group have done
and will do
(A) What We’ve done
Wide consultation showed a substantial level of local support for opportunities
in these areas and the Small Business Breakfast Group has been instrumental in
defining and pursuing these. Among them, the part which might be played by
local tourism has regularly emerged as a topic ripe for further discussion.
(B) What we’re going to do
This group, newly constituted after the adoption of the Parish Plan 2010,will
conduct further detailed research into potential for home-working, the
provision of more work/living units and their advantages, the use of derelict
farm buildings for light industry and the development of a local tourism
strategy.
